Cool robot toy
We purchased this robot for our son's 4th birthday. He'd been asking for a robot for Christmas or his birthday. I did some research on robots and found these WowWee robots. I showed him the little video clips of the robots in action on Amazon. He was super excited and kept asking to watch them over and over. He was so excited when he got this one for his birthday. He plays with it often and keeps it up in a special place to "keep it safe" from his 2 year old brother. He laughs at the funny things the robot says and likes to play with it in dark rooms where he can see the headlights working. I think the age rating is for a little older kids but he figured out how to run the remote control very quickly on his own. Great toy!
Not as advertised
I got this for my son for his birthday, and he immediately loved it. After playing with it for a few hours though, he got bored with it. He also got frustrated because the robot won't do the things it is advertised to do, such as follow him. This purchase was a bit disappointing for the price.
My Grandson was pleased as punch!
This was a great product and my 8 year old grandson loved it. He liked all the features and the speaking portion too!
I will say it took 3 adults to get the toy out of the packaging. That was fun too; at least for we adults.
It was ok
Not as good or enjoyable as i thought for my son - he got bored with it very quickly - does and says the same thing - not much variety -
Enjoyable for all ages, not so much for dogs
I purchased the robot for my five year old grandson knowing it might be a bit beyond his age. In the midst of the Christmas chaos, other things were more interesting for him, plus there wasn't much room for the robot to do his thing. Also, just getting him out of the packaging takes a while. He left the robot here temporarily. I have been enjoying it periodically, and especially enjoy teasing whatever dog happens to be visiting with. Now that the Christmas clutter has been removed and there's room for the robot to roam, I know my grandson will enjoy it on his next visit. I think it's really cute.

WowWee Roborover - 8405
Roborover is an agile tread based companion with a shy but inquisitive nature, his personality grows and becomes more confident as you play with him. He is always eager to be on the move or play games with you. The remote controller has a Follow Me function so you can have Roborover search for you. And when it gets dark, he automatically switches to Night Mode activating his headlights to light up his path.
