No longer afraid
I used to be hesitant about embarking on road trips longer than 45 minutes. Sometimes even after going before leaving, I'd have a potty emergency and have to search desperately for a friendly gas station. Camping was a nightmare too. Terrified flashlight hikes to the potty at 3am after dressing in the cold. Yikes! Now I can potty in the back of my car (I did this recently and was sooo happy it worked!), in the privacy of my tent, etc. I keep a few in the car for emergencies, one in my purse, and several in the camping supplies. At first I was afraid of spilling or missing, but after getting my mind past that I could go easily. Now that I am participating in historical reenactments, I am ordering a second package so I don't have to squeeze my bulky costume into a filthy nasty port-a-potty. I'm so excited about the freedom this product has given me! :D
Indispensable for Camping
I've used these for years ever since I ran across them in an outdoors supply store. Now I buy them from Amazon.com in boxes of 18. For those who don't 'stand to pee", tent camping can be a bore if one has to urinate in the middle of the night - getting shoes on, clothing, hoping it's not raining, trekking to the outhouse or restrooms etc etc. This eliminates the need for all that - pun intended. I make sure I have one for each night I'll be camping, plus several more for the car.
I also recently had major surgery, and although I could get out of bed, walking down to my bathroom was difficult and these saved me a few trips.
These hold a fair amount of liquid and there is no odor. I see that Travel John makes a resealable version: this would be an improvement, but since they also cost a lot more, I'll stick with these.

I was given a pack of these as a gag gift, but they have saved my sanity and my upholstery many times. They are very compact, easy to store, and quick to deploy..perfect for your child's "don't say anything until it is an emergency" phase or my personal favorite: the "I gotta go NOW even though I just asked you 10 times if you have to use the bathroom" phase. They are neat, too..the gel solidifies instantly as advertised. Be aware they aren't totally odor free, however, so don't leave one in the car to steep in the heat all day. My kids are completely potty trained now, but we don't go on any long trip or any place there might not be a bathroom with a pack of these in the car or one in my wife's purse. As far as volume goes, as gross as it sounds you can even use one twice if your kids are willing to share!

Best product I ever bought. We went on vacation and the bedrooms were on the 3rd floor and the bathroom on the 1st floor so they were the greatest. A very valuable product to take on any trip and even carry some in the car for emergencies. Will never take a vacation without them again. Lynn R.
Used this during a bathroom remodel
I had intended to use these only for when I travel. During a recent bathroom remodel I found that they came in handy. No long trip to the bathroom downstairs in the middle of the night. The product works as advertised. Everything is contained and odor free for easy disposal. I am going to purchase another box of these.
